David Smith, President & CEO

As President and CEO, David Smith has positioned Silex Technology America, Inc. as the premier provider of network printing solutions and biometric devices. Since joining the company in October 2001, Smith has provided the strategic direction for all U.S. operations. He has invested aggressively in strengthening technology innovations, growing the Silex sales organization and expanding engineering and marketing initiatives in the United States.

His strategic vision and ability to build key relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and channel partners across key industry verticals targeting companies across all industries and geographies - has enabled silex technology and prior employers to team with an impressive array of clients including industry leaders such as: Canon, GE Medical, Ingram, Tiger Direct, Epson, SATO, Rockwell, Fujitsu and Litton Industries.

As Silex Technology America's connectivity & wirless division vice president, Keith Sugawara is responsible for building and expanding Silex's core printer connectivity OEM business into new device connectivity markets that include network scanners, electronic whiteboards, sewing machines, digital projectors, digital cameras, storage and others. He is also responsible for expanding Silex's presence into new distribution, reseller and retail channels. With his experience and proven success in starting and building multiple technology companies, Sugawara will be a driving force in Silex's success.

Prior to joining Silex Technology America, Sugawara was president of eStorage, a leading manufacturer of enterprise storage systems. Sugawara was also co-founder of XCD, a successful network printing company. After XCD was acquired by the Troy Group, Sugawara served as president of Troy Wireless. Under his leadership, Sugawara helped develop relationships with key imaging manufacturers such as Hewlett-Packard, Epson America, Canon Business Machines, Lexmark International and others.
