This page explains 3 operation modes of wiDock.
There are 2 ways to switch the operation mode. One is to use the application that comes with wiDock (Dock Link), and the other is to push the Link button on wiDock.
Configuration
Mode is for configuring the network settings by connecting wiDock directly to a computer using a network cable. To run wiDock
in Configuration Mode, push and hold the Link button on wiDock
for 3 seconds while wiDock is running in Play Mode, and release
it when the Operation LED starts to flash rapidly (0.1 sec interval).
When wiDock is running in Configuration Mode, the Operation LED
flashes slowly (2 sec interval).
To switch from Configuration Mode to the other mode, unplug the AC
power adapter from the electrical outlet and then plug it back in.

Play Mode
is for playing music or videos, and this mode does not require a
communication with a computer. wiDock begins in Play Mode when the AC
plug is plugged into the electrical outlet. When wiDock is
running in Play Mode, the Operation LED flashes slowly. To switch from
Play Mode to Link Mode, click the Connect button in Dock Link (the
application that comes with wiDock) or push the Link button on wiDock for 1 second.

Link Mode
is for synchronizing the iPod with iTunes and accessing the iPod from the network.
To run in Link Mode, click the Connect button in Dock Link (the
application that comes with wiDock) or push the Link button on wiDock for 1 second (less
than 3 seconds) while wiDock is running in Play Mode.
When wiDock is running in Link Mode, the Operation LED on wiDock will turn on. To switch from Link Mode to Play Mode, click the
Disconnect button in Dock Link or push the Link button on wiDock for 1 second.
