Download music and
video to the iPod (for Macintosh)
This page explains how to connect an iPod to wiDock and
download music and video.
Dock Link is used to connect to the iPod.

Check that the iPod is connect to wiDock and is in Play Mode.

- Please power on wiDock when it is off.
- The Operation LED flashes during
Play Mode.

Click Macintosh HD - Applications - Dock
Link.

Select
the iPod you wish to connect with from the list, and click
.

- The iPod cannot be connected when it is being used by
another user.

- The window below is displayed when wiDock
connects to a PC. It may take a while to start iTunes if you are using
large capacity iPod. Please wait until iTunes starts. This window will
automatically close when iTunes starts.

- wiDock can be switched to Link Mode by pushing
the Link button.
In this case, it will connect to the computer registered in the Computer to link
field during the network configuration.

The iPod and your computer will be connected and wiDock will run in Link Mode. If you have configured iTunes to automatically start when
the iPod is connected, iTunes will run.

- While in Link Mode, the Operation LED turns on.
- If you have configured iTunes to not start
automatically when the iPod is connected, please start iTunes manually by clicking Macintosh HD - Applications -
iTunes.
- The following operations may make the iPod
or computer unstable.
If one of these actions occurs, stop your operation once, and restart wiDock, the iPod and the computer.
- The iPod is disconnected from wiDock
while a
connection is established with the Dock Link.
- The network cable is disconnected from wiDock
while a connection is established with the Dock Link.
- The Disconnect button is clicked in Dock
Link
while the iPod is in operation (such as during data transfer from
iTunes).

You can download music and video to the iPod using iTunes
as if the iPod is directly connected to the computer.

- Please refer to "Remove iPod from wiDock " for the procedure to remove the iPod after use.

- wiDock utilizes a IEEE802.11 b/g wireless
connection to communicate with your PC. Therefore, depending on the
wireless signal quality, data transfer may be slower than when the iPod
is connected to the PC directly by USB cable.
- Sound skipping or frame dropping may occur when
playing
music or video on the iPod with wiDock over the wireless
LAN. Please refer to "Sound
skips or frame drops." in "Q&A".

Remove the iPod by following the procedure below when the
music or a movie have been downloaded to the iPod.

In the iTunes source list, either click the remove
button next to your iPod (Device), or the remove
button in the lower right corner of iTunes.

- When you click the remove button, it seems like wiDock is running in Play Mode, but wiDock is still in Link Mode.

Select the iPod you wish to disconnect from the list and click
.

- When you click Disconnect,
the following message may appear.
You can safely disconnect when your operation is completed; check the
operation status of the iPod and click Yes.

This message will not be displayed anymore when you check Do
not display a confirmation message before disconnecting and
click Yes.
- The Operation LED flashes during Play Mode.

- wiDock can be switched to Play Mode by pushing
the Link button.

Finish Dock Link and remove the iPod from wiDock.
