This page explains the troubleshooting procedures to resolve possible problems you may experience while installing wiDock.

1.Problems during initial installation
| SSID (ESSID) | ID to identify the access point. |
| Encryption requirements | Whether encrypted communication with the access point is required or not. |
| Encryption mode | Encryption type (WEP, WPA, WPA2 and etc.) in case it is required. |
| Encryption key | Key necessary for encryption. WEP key, when using WEP encryption. Pre-Shared Key, when using WPA/WPA2 encryption. |
| Key index | Which key from 1 to 4 is enabled, when using a WEP key. |
| Other security function | Information for a security
function configured to an access point. e.g. MAC address filter if a security function is configured to the access point, configuration of the access point needs to be changed to allow the communication with wiDock. |

There are two ways to assign an IP address to wiDock; one is to Get IP address automatically from DHCP server and the other is to Assign IP address manually. Choose the way to assign an IP address according to your environment.
| When there is a DHCP server in the network environment | |
| Solution | You can use Get IP address
automatically from DHCP server. As wiDock is
set by default to Get IP address
automatically, wiDock will obtain an IP address appropriate
to your network
environment from the DHCP server just by powering up wiDock. Please refer to "Reset to Factory Default" for the procedure to reset wiDock to the factory default settings. |
| When there is no DHCP server in the network environment, or when you do not prefer getting an IP address from DHCP server | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Solution | Please Assign IP address manually.
Keep in mind of the following points regarding the IP address to assign
to wiDock.

| wiDock and the iPod may not be connected correctly. | |
| Solution | Please check to make sure the iPod is properly inserted
into wiDock. The operation LED flashes slowly when it is properly connected. |
| wiDock may be powered off. | |
| Solution | Please check to make sure that both the iPod and wiDock are powered on. The Operation LED flashes slowly or is ON when the power is on. |
| Cable may not be connected correctly. | |
| Solution | Please check to make sure that the audio cable is properly connected to wiDock and the audio device. Please refer to "Connect & Play iPod with Audio Device" for details on connection procedure. |
| Audio input of the
audio device may not be set to external input. |

| Solution | Please check to make sure that the audio input of the audio device is set to receive audio to the corresponding input of wiDock. Please refer to the manual of the audio device for the procedure to switch the source A/V input. |
| wiDock may
be in Link Mode. |
|
| Solution | Please check that wiDock is in Play Mode. The Operation LED flashes while in Play Mode. |
| User settings of wiDock may not be correct. | |
| Solution | Please check the settings of the linked computer. Refer to the "Change the Configuration Using the Web Browser" to view the current settings of wiDock. If the settings are incorrect, please configure the settings again. |
| wiDock may not be correctly connected to the wireless LAN. | |
| Solution | Please check the Green and Orange LED on the back of wiDock to see if it is connecting correctly to the wireless LAN. Refer to "About LED Status" for details on LED status. |
| wiDock may not be changed to Link Mode. | |
| Solution | wiDock connects to the PC when it is in Link Mode. Please check that wiDock is in Link Mode. The operation LED is turned ON when wiDock is in Link Mode. |
| "Open iTunes when this iPod is connected" may not be selected. | |
| Solution | Check if the operation LED is ON. wiDock is connected
in Link Mode when the operation LED is turned ON. Manually start
iTunes, and check if the iPod is being displayed or try to reconnect
after
changing the settings of iTunes to automatically start. You need the additional configuration to use multiple iPods. Please refer to "Use Multiple iPod" for details. |
| In Windows 2000 and Macintosh, the warning message will appear on the PC when you change wiDock from Link Mode to Play Mode without disconnecting by iTunes. | |
| Solution | To change wiDock from Link Mode to Play Mode, first disconnect by iTunes, then press the link button to switch the mode. |
Please check the operation status and configuration of wiDock.
| wiDock may have been started with wired LAN mode. | |
| Solution | When the network cable is connected to wiDock, it starts with wired LAN mode. If an Ethernet cable is connected to wiDock, unplug the network cable and restart wiDock. |
| Wireless LAN configuration of wiDock may not be suitable to your environment. | |
| Solution | Connect the network cable of wiDock, and check the wireless LAN configuration of wiDock. |
| If your wireless LAN is interrupted and disconnected, wiDock may be installed into a location subject to weaker radio wave signals. | |
| Solution | Please reconsider the location of installation and condition of use. |
| Sound skipping or frame dropping may occur when playing music or video from the iPod with wiDock over a wireless LAN. | |
| Solution 1 | Connect wiDock and PC with a wired LAN when playing music or video from the iPod with iTunes. |
| Solution 2 | Connect wiDock with an audio device or TV when playing music or video in the iPod. Please refer to "Connect & Play iPod with Audio Device" for details on the connection procedure. |
