We are excited to share the news that Qualcomm has announced yesterday that it has reached agreement with CSR plc (“CSR”) regarding the terms of a recommended cash acquisition.  CSR is a recognized industry leader in Bluetooth, Bluetooth Smart and audio processing technology.

The acquisition complements Qualcomm’s current offering by adding products, channels and customers to accelerate Qualcomm’s presence and path to leadership in the Internet of Everything (IoE).  This news comes just one month after the acquisition of Stonestreet One, a leading Bluetooth software stack supplier.

Qualcomm’s aggressive move to complement their industry leading Wi-Fi technology with an enhanced portfolio of both Bluetooth hardware and software solutions is very positive for Silex Technology and our customers.  The CSR acquisition opens up new opportunities for Silex Technology to consider providing Bluetooth only modules, complement our existing Wi-Fi and combination Wi-Fi & Bluetooth modules.
